Capability
Every file says what it can do.
Open a file and its menu lists what you can do with it: share, convert, print, versions. Each row is in one of three states — available, marked Pro, or not possible right now.
An action you cannot take is not hidden. The reason is written next to it in one sentence, because why an option is missing is more use to you than its absence.
Conversions within the image family are free.

Editing
Edit PDF and Word on the device.
In a PDF, highlight text, underline it or strike it through, draw on the page and fill in forms. Draw your signature once and place it on the document; it is kept only on this device.
Word documents have styles, bold, italic and underline, bulleted and numbered lists and alignment; text, Markdown and CSV files can be edited too. All of it is free, and every change is written to the file itself.
Converting
Convert without the cloud.
Conversions between JPG, PNG and WebP are free and run entirely on the device. Conversions that produce documents, spreadsheets and PDFs — image to PDF and text to PDF among them — are marked Pro; purchasing is not open in this version.
The output is temporary at first; keep it and it is added to your Filerse folder. The original is never deleted or overwritten: a conversion makes something, it does not destroy something.
Search
Find it by name.
Search your files by name across every folder you have connected, from one place. You can also search inside an open PDF or text file.
Versions
Going back breaks nothing.
When you edit a file the previous state is kept, and you can go back to the last 10 versions. Going back is not destructive — it writes a new version rather than removing the old one.
Deleted files wait in the trash for 30 days. Trash and versions take up space, so the storage screen shows each of them separately.
Pro
Pro is on its way.
Actions marked Pro in the app will open with Filerse Pro. Purchasing is not open in this version; what Pro includes and what it costs will be written here when it opens.
Privacy
Your files stay with you.
Filerse shows no ads and creates no user account. It measures the app’s speed and crashes without your name; your files are never sent anywhere. It reads only the folders you pick; the rest of your device stays invisible to it. Converting, searching and indexing all work without a network connection.

Start-up time, screen transitions and crashes go to Expo’s EAS Observe service; your files never do, and there is no advertising ID.
Nothing outside the folders you picked is read, and you can withdraw access.
The purchase goes through your store; we never see your name.
Everything the app sends is listed in the privacy policy. This website is a separate thing: we measure visits with Google Analytics, and we do not ask you first. The detail is here.

A file we do not recognise is not hidden; it sits in the list with a dashed spine, and whatever can be opened is opened.
